Highway Care’s MASH 16 TL-3 and TL-4 compliant barrier system, HighwayGuard™, has added to its growing list of approvals in the USA following the North Carolina authorities’ decision to approve it for use in lower and standard deflection configurations.
North Carolina is known for its diverse landscapes and changing road networks, offering a mix of urban areas, countryside, coastal routes, and mountains. Thanks to the approval from the state authorities, HighwayGuard™ can now be used by contractors to offer robust protection for work areas across all highways in the Eastern state, covering an extensive network of 80,000 miles.
Capable of withstanding vehicle impacts up to 10,000 kg, the HighwayGuard™️ system reduces the risk of injury or fatality for both road workers and road users, providing effective protection from vehicle incursions and reducing the risks associated with impact for vehicle occupants.
The HighwayGuard™️ system has a much smaller working width compared to other barriers, allowing more space in live construction zones, minimising traffic disruption, and ultimately creating safer environments for all. The system can be used as both a temporary installation during road maintenance and improvement projects, or a permanent safety barrier.
North Carolina’s varied climate – from sizzling sun to tropical cyclones and snow – often makes driving conditions challenging throughout this picturesque state. HighwayGuard™’s durable design ensures its effectiveness in all weather conditions, offering year-round protection for road workers and reassurance to the millions of drivers navigating through North Carolina each year.
HighwayGuard™ continues to gain popularity as a preferred choice for maximising road safety. We’re delighted to have put another pin in our increasingly crowded approvals map, which gives an at-a-glance guide to the global locations where HighwayGuard™️ has been approved for use.
